The U12 Division is open to boys who are born between 9/1/2009 through 8/31/2011.

  • Prior lacrosse experience is not necessary.
  • Teams are divided evenly between experienced and inexperienced players.
  • The time commitment is 3 to 4 times per week including practices and games.
  • Home practices and games are held at King Philip Middle School.
  • Generally 8 games and 2 tournaments are played during the season.
  • The season runs from Mid March to Mid June.

The teams play games within the Connecticut Valley Youth Lacrosse League (CVYL).  CVYL is made up of towns in Central Connecticut, Northern Connecticut, and Western Massachusetts.  Most away games will be at towns within a 30 minute drive of West Hartford.

West Hartford fields teams in both the "A" and Balanced (B) divisions.

For players interested in participation on the A Team, notification will be sent out during the Spring inviting players to the open tryout. Please note, participation on the A Team will require lacrosse being the primary spring sport with minimum practice attendance commitment.

The U12 Division Coordinator is Jason Jarvis.  If you have questions, please contact him at jjarv@jarvisairfoil.com.

PRE-SEASON NOTES:

U12 Families,

Lacrosse pre-season is right around the corner, so here is what you need to know:

We will be practicing as a division at the Conard High School turf (110 Beachwood Road, West Hartford) for a few weeks until we get the ok from the town to move over to King Phillip School (this is most likely after the WHPS’s April break).

Here is the current schedule (all times PM):

Your player will need to be ready to play at the start time.  These will be full-pad practices, and everyone should have a mouth guard and a reversible pinnie.

The Gold and Green teams will practice together through 3/23.  We will then firm up the roster for Gold, and roster Red.

At that point communication will come from your coaches.  We have a tremendous group of volunteer coaches at both the Gold and Red level and it looks to be a great spring.

Finally, please make certain you have the new chest protectors.  These are still available at local sporting goods stores.  Follow this for more information:  https://www.usalacrosse.com/lacrosse-chest-protector-faq

Best regards,
